This document establishes the privacy policy (henceforth "our Policy") regarding the handling of private information for FURNI (henceforth "our Service"), provided by KAKUCHO Ltd. (henceforth "our Company").
1. Private Information
1.1. Within private information, "personal information" indicates "personal information" as specified by the Japanese Personal Information Protection Law, and is information regarding living individuals, including data such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information and other description that would allow an individual to be identified.
1.2. Within private information, "History information and characteristic information" indicates information other than the "personal information" described above, and includes data such as services that have been used and products that have been purchased, history of pages and advertisements that have been viewed, keywords searched by the user, time and date of use, manner of use, environment of use, postal code and gender, profession, age, the user's IP address, cookie information, location information, and individual identification information of the electronic device.
2. Methods of Collecting Private Information
2.1. During the registration process, there are instances in which our Company will ask users for private information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account information, credit card number, or driver's license number. We may collect other private information from interactions between the user and partners such as transaction and settlement records. (This may include information sources, advertisers, advertisement deliverers [henceforth partner information])
2.2. Our company will collect history information and characteristic information about the user such as services and software that have been used, products that have been purchased, history of pages and advertisements that have been viewed, keywords that have been searched, date and time of use, manner of use, environment of use (if using through a mobile device, this includes the device's connection status and various setting information regarding the use), IP address, cookie information, location information, individual identification information of the device, when the user is using our company or a partner's service, as well as when viewing its pages.
2.3. Our Service may use a technique called "cookie". Cookies are a mechanism that temporarily inscribes data in the user's computer in order to retain specific information, and uses that data to identify the user when a connection is established. If cookies are not allowed, some functions may not be accessible. Cookies can be configured through the user's browser.
2.4. To prevent fraudulent access to your private information while you use our Services, we use a system called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which encodes the data before sending and receiving information. Our Company will strictly follow our Privacy Policy to protect personal information of users, taking steps to prevent access and attacks from viruses.
3. Purposes of Collection and Use of Private Information
Our Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes.
3.1. To allow the user to view and correct their subscription information and to monitor usage, to display subscription information such as the user's name, address, contact information, and payment method, and to to track the goods and services the user purchased from our company.
3.2. To enable our Company to send information and products to users, our Company utilizes contact information such as the user's name and address.
3.3. To verify the user's identity, our Company may use the name, date of birth, address, phone number, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number of the user. Our Company may also documents that include proof of delivery by mail.
3.4. To bill the user, our Company will use information about the product and number of items purchased, the services used and their time periods or number of use, billing amount, name, address, bank account number, and credit card number.
3.5. To enable easy data entry by the user, our company will auto populate forms and based on user preference, will send information to other services.
3.6. To block the use of our service by fraudulent users , users who delay payments, and users who cause loss or damage to third parties, our Company will use personal information such as service use status, name, and address.
3.7. To respond to communication from users, our Company will access personal information such as the content of the communication, information related to services our company our company provides such as payment and billing information, the user's service use status, and contact information
3.8. Our Company will use private information to provide services from our online shop, product delivery, and communication with users.
3.9. Our Company will use personal information to host campaigns and to conduct questionnaires.
3.10. Our Company will use personal information for analysis of data to improve marketing strategies and to create new services.
3.11. Our Company will use personal information to provide reports to related companies and partners.
3.12. Our Company will use personal information entrusted to us by other companies with the same privacy policy as is followed for our own clients.
3.13. Our Company will use personal information to fulfill contracts between the user and our Company and to ensure that the legal rights of our users are protected.
3.14. Our Company will use personal information for purposes that are incidental to the above purposes.
4. Providing Personal Information to Third parties
4.1. Our Company will not disclose any personal information to a third party without the user's consent except in the following situations. Our Company will disclose necessary personal information as required by law.
- Situations that Require Disclosure by Law
- When personal information is necessary to protect one from death, personal injury, or loss of wealth and getting consent is difficult
- When information is needed to improve public health or to promote the healthy growth and development of children and getting consent is difficult
- When a national or local entity or one assigned by the aforementioned is required by law to obtain personal information and obtaining consent threatens the successful collection of the required information
- When any of the following has been announced or users have been notified regarding the following
- When a third party requires the information for use
- The categories of data to be provided to third parties
- The method by which the information is provided to third parties
- When requested by the user to terminate the sharing of personal information to a third party
4.2. The aforementioned policies will not apply to third parties in the following situations.
- When our Company entrusts part or all personal information, as needed, to a third party in order to be used by our Company
- When there is succession of ownership of personal information in situations such as a merger
- When personal information will be used in partnership with a specific person and the user has been notified or can easily ascertain the sharing of information, what information will be shared, with whom it will be shared, the purpose of sharing, and who is responsible to manage the personal information shared
4.3. Upon the request of the user, it is possible to keep personal information undisclosed However, if the information requested to be undisclosed is necessary for a service, that service cannot be provided
5. Disclosure of Personal Information
5.1. When requested by a user, our Company will disclose personal information of the requesting individual without delay. However, if disclosure of private information applies to any of the following situations, there is a possibility that part or all of the requested information will not be disclosed upon immediate notification to the user. A 1000 yen charge will be applied for each disclosure of personal information upon a user's request.
- When disclosure of personal information poses a threat that could cause third party death, injury, loss of wealth, or right violation
- When disclosure of personal information could hinder our company to operate with fidelity
- Any other situation in which a law is violated
5.2. Regardless of the aforementioned policies, as a general rule, our company will not disclose information other than personal information such as records or characteristic information.
6. Amendment or Elimination of Personal Information
6.1. In the event that a user's private information is incorrect, a user may request an amendment or elimination of personal information according to our Company's procedure
6.2. Our Company will amend or eliminate personal information without delay if a request is made by a user and our Company deems the request appropriate. The amendment or elimination will be communicated to the user.
7. Terminating the Use of Personal Information
If our Company receives notification from a user that their personal information is being used for purposes outside the intended purpose or has been fraudulently accessed and the user requests termination of use or elimination of personal information, our Company will conduct and investigation without delay. If deemed appropriate our Company will terminate the use of the personal information and notify the user. If the termination of use of personal information warrants a significant financial cost or is extremely difficult and there is an alternate method to protect the user's right to privacy, the alternate action will be taken.
8. Changes to the Privacy Policy
8.1. We reserve the rights to make changes to this policy at any time without notice to users.
8.2. Aside form exceptional circumstances as determined by our Company, any changes to the privacy policies apply when the policies are posted.
